  • Matt Trevenen

    PARTNER, PRESIDENT & CEO

    Matt joined Northview Hotel Group in 2006 and is responsible for managing the company’s overall operations, including setting the corporate vision, values and culture and executing the organization’s strategic plan. With broad experience across all aspects of Northview’s core businesses, Matt brings a strong investment track record and a relentless focus on people, process, and culture. Matt has served in various leadership roles at Northview since joining the company in 2006 and has been a partner in the firm since 2013.

    Before joining Northview, Matt worked at Lehman Brothers in fixed income derivative products specializing in swaps and options.

    Matt earned an A.B. in history at Princeton University and an M.M.H. at Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration.

  • Mark Mance

    PARTNER

    Mark founded Northview Hotel Group in 2004 and oversees all aspects of its business. Previously, Mark was president of Sunstone Hotel Investors, a public lodging REIT comprising upper-upscale and upscale hotels, operated under brand names franchised or licensed from Marriott, Hilton, InterContinental, Hyatt, Starwood, Carlson, Fairmont, and Wyndham. He has invested in over $5 billion of lodging assets throughout his career and developed a strong track record of generating exceptional risk-adjusted returns for partners and investors.

    Before joining Sunstone, Mark was a principal with Westbrook Partners and responsible for more than $2 billion of acquisitions and dispositions, including all aspects of transaction origination, underwriting, execution, and oversight. Earlier in his career, he was a financial analyst and associate at Morgan Stanley in the real estate and mergers and acquisitions departments.

    Mark earned a B.A. at Duke University and an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

  • Simon Hallgarten

    PARTNER

    Simon co-founded Northview Hotel Group in 2004, and for the first few years, oversaw all aspects of the firm’s development, construction and operations. Since 2012, he has led Design and Construction, including pre-development, planning, contractor oversight, budget preparation, and hands-on project management. Since 2004 he has overseen over $750mm of development work for Northview.

    Simon has over 35 years of experience in hotel and residential operations, feasibility, development, construction, and asset management in the U.S., Europe, and Australia. Simon started his career in Europe and Australia as a chef and hotel manager before joining the London-based real estate feasibility groups at KPMG and Deloitte. In 1993, he joined Westin Hotels & Resorts’ development group and was Vice President of Development during the sale of the company to Starwood Capital and Goldman, Sachs & Co.

    Simon earned a B.A. with honors from Bristol University, England, and a post-graduate degree in hotel management from Manchester University’s Hollings Faculty, England.

  • Brent Martin

    CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

    Brent joined Northview Hotel Group in 2020 and is responsible for optimizing team and property performance and providing strategic direction on the firm’s acquisitions. He has over 25 years of corporate and property-level experience.

    Before Northview, Brent was with Hersha Hospitality Trust and oversaw ten hotels throughout the U.S. as Vice President Asset Management. He also spent 12 years with Four Seasons, culminating in a role as Strategic Advisor to the C.E.O. and C.F.O focus on global restructuring and performance. He was also General Manager of Four Seasons Thailand, Philadelphia, Morocco, and Vail. Earlier in his career, he was a financial analyst and associate at Merrill Lynch New York and London in M&A Investment banking.

    Brent earned an A.B. in Economics at Harvard College and M.B.A. at Harvard Business School.

  • Lisa Marchese

    CHIEF COMMERCIAL OFFICER

    Lisa joined Northview Hotel Group in 2022 and is responsible for all revenue generation strategies across sales, marketing, distribution, and analytics for Northview’s properties. She has over 20 years of corporate and property-level experience.

    Before Northview, Lisa served as Chief Commercial Officer at Fora, a London-based premium, flexible workspace provider that emphasizes the role of hospitality, wellness, and service in the office sector. Prior, as Chief Operating Officer, she launched The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas, one of the most successful brands on the Las Vegas Strip. Lisa then joined The Venetian and The Palazzo Resort and Casino as Chief Marketing Officer and Witkoff as Chief Commercial Officer.

    Lisa earned a B.A. in International Affairs at Roanoke College.

  • David Zeuske

    SENIOR ADVISOR

    David joined Northview Hotel Group in 2007 and is now focused on long-term strategy, including acquisitions and development opportunities. From 2011 to 2023, David was a Northview Partner and oversaw all aspects of Hotel Operations, Finance, Human Resources, and Information Technology.

    Before Northview, David was E.V.P. for Newport Beach-based Tarsadia Hotels, an owner/operator in California, Colorado, Arizona, and Nevada. He oversaw all hotel operations, crafted Tarsadia’s management philosophy, and developed its systems, tools, and processes.

    Before Tarsadia, David was Area Managing Director for Westin Hotels & Resorts, overseeing Washington, Oregon, Alaska, British Columbia, and Alberta. He started his career with Westin in 1978 at the landmark Benson Hotel in Portland, Oregon. He subsequently held several positions at some of Westin’s most prestigious properties, including Director of Rooms at The Plaza in New York and Hotel Manager of the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix. While Managing Director of the Westin Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta, he played a vital role in the city’s downtown redevelopment as it prepared for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games.

    David earned a B.S. at Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration.

  • Brent McLean

    SENIOR ADVISOR

    Brent joined Northview Hotel Group in 2011 and is focused on Brasada Ranch’s development and residential sales. From 2017 through September 2022, Brent was a Northview Partner, overseeing all hotel sales and marketing, revenue strategy, performance sales, and creative design. Brent has over 25 years of experience in the hospitality and real estate industries.

    Before Northview, Brent was with Tarsadia Hotels in Newport Beach, CA. As Vice President, Business Development, he oversaw the creative development and launch of the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego and the ongoing relationship with the brand. Prior, Brent was a Senior Director with Playground Destination Properties, an Intrawest Company. Over four years, he oversaw real estate developments in California, Florida, West Virginia, and Mexico and $500mm in real estate sales. Earlier in his career, Brent served as Director of Sales and Marketing for Palisades Tahoe (formerly Squaw Valley USA).

    Brent earned a B.A. with honors from Colby College and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.

  • Dan Boda

    PRINCIPAL/SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT
    DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION

    Dan joined Northview Hotel Group in 2007 and works closely with Simon and the team overseeing all of the firm’s design and construction projects. During his tenure, he has also been responsible for underwriting acquisitions, portfolio analysis of hotel equity and debt investment opportunities, and assisting in deal sourcing, asset management, and other aspects of Northview’s business.

    Dan earned a B.S. at the University of Florida and an M.M.H. degree from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration. He is a LEED Accredited Professional.

  • John Norwood

    SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT DEVELOPMENT & ACQUISITIONS

    John joined Northview Hotel Group in 2012 and is responsible for sourcing and underwriting new acquisitions.

    Before Northview, John worked in acquisitions with the Goldberg Group, a boutique retail investment firm based in White Plains, NY, and oversaw the underwriting and capital raising process for a portfolio of retail condos and triple-net investments in the greater New York City area.

    John earned a B.S. in civil engineering at Princeton University and an M.P.S. from Cornell University’s Program in Real Estate.

  • Allen Vance

    Allen Vance

    SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATION

    Allen joined Northview Hotel Group in 2023 and is responsible for aligning NVHG and its portfolio properties’ technical and digital strategies with their organizational goals, both front and back of the house, to drive overall growth.

    Before joining Northview, Allen led technology and marketing teams for hospitality brands on an international scale, including various senior roles in London, Las Vegas, and Asia.

    In London, Allen helped guide Fora and The Office Group through a completed merger, yielding over 50 properties in London and Europe. While in Las Vegas, he served as the Chief Information and Technology Officer for the $3.1B Drew Las Vegas development team and launched The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas digital experiences and innovation teams. Allen also has executive-level experience at Las Vegas Sands Corporation and Bank of America.

    After serving in the United States Marine Corps, Allen earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida and MBA from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

  • Suzy Carder

    SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT FINANCE

    Suzy joined Northview Hotel Group in 2013 and is responsible for corporate tax and finance, oversight of lender and treasury administration, corporate insurance, hotel takeover and transition support, and strategic oversight of Northview’s technology platform for financial reporting, human resource information management, payroll and business intelligence.

    Before Northview, Suzy served as Corporate Controller for Noble House Hotels & Resorts, Corporate Controller for Renaissance Hotels, V.P. of Finance for Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, and C.F.O. for the Homestead, a K.S.L. Resort.

  • Rita Ruth

    VICE PRESIDENT FINANCE

    Rita joined Northview Hotel Group in 2023 and is responsible for property-level financial support including budgeting and audits, labor management, property level insurance renewals, hotel takeover and transition support, 401k administration and the incorporation of Northview’s proprietary financial reporting systems into the property financial process.

    Before Northview, Rita held senior finance roles at Ocean Reef Club, Squaw Valley, The Homestead and Grove Park Inn as well as area finance roles for Omni Hotels & Resorts.

  • Chris Earnest

    VICE PRESIDENT BUSINESS REPORTING & ANALYTICS

    Chris joined Northview Hotel Group in 2010 and is responsible for developing and implementing the company’s proprietary financial reporting and business intelligence platforms. Northview’s properties are provided with integrated forecasting, budgeting, and labor management tools that drive operational success through his work. Chris is also responsible for optimizing business reporting tools and provides ongoing financial analysis and support to the Northview portfolio.

    Before Northview, Chris worked in public finance, underwriting municipal airports, and golf course projects.

    Chris earned an M.A. in Public Policy from Brigham Young University.

  • Bruce Westerlin

    SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

    Bruce joined Northview Hotel Group in 2013 and has overseen several properties, including the tremendously successful renovation and repositioning of Q&C Hotel and Bar in New Orleans and Jekyll Island Club Resort in Georgia. Currently, Bruce is working with Northview’s Design and Construction team to complete the renovation of The Boca Raton.

    Bruce has over 40 years of property-level experience and has led luxury properties and large convention hotels with Ritz-Carlton, Hyatt, Hilton, and Adams Mark.

    Bruce earned a B.S. from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

  • Todd Taylor

    SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

    Todd joined the Northview team early 2022 to support Northview’s Design & Construction department with oversight over various projects at The Boca Raton.

    Before Northview, Todd managed over $285 million of luxury Resort renovation projects, mostly in California and Florida owned by affiliates of Blackstone.

    Todd attended the University of Missouri – Kansas City.

  • Jenn Blechman

    CREATIVE DIRECTOR

    Jenn joined Northview Hotel Group in 2013 and is responsible for corporate and portfolio-wide creative operations, collaboration, and strategy over a variety of visual mediums. During her ten years at Northview, she has worked with 14 hotels and resorts.

    Before joining the team full-time, Jenn began as a freelance graphic design contractor for Northview, working on various logo and branding projects across properties.

    Jenn earned a B.F.A. in Graphic Design from Oregon State University where she received the President’s Award for Excellence in Art.

  • Vanessa Sahagun

    MARKETING EXECUTIVE

    Vanessa joined Northview Hotel Group in 2023 and is responsible for Northview Hotel Group’s property level marketing initiatives through various digital and traditional channels. She has over 15 years experience in marketing and project management.

    Before joining Northview, Vanessa worked for industries spanning from hospitality to health and wellness. With experience in launching and managing marketing and operations for various sized businesses and corporations such as The Venetian and The Palazzo Resort and Casino, Wynn Las Vegas, and The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas.

  • Kristyna Delay

    PERFORMANCE SALES DIRECTOR

    Kristyna joined Northview Hotel Group in 2012 and is responsible for Northview’s Performance Sales Group, which provides reservation and concierge services to all properties. Her team is located throughout the U.S. and is responsible for 15-50% of the property’s room revenue.

    Before Northview, Kristyna worked in healthcare administration, call center services, social work, and accounting administration.

  • Peder Groseth

    REGIONAL REVENUE STRATEGIST

    Peder joined Northview Hotel Group in 2013 and is responsible for revenue strategy at each property. Peder’s previous property-level experience makes him a great property partner and member of our business review meetings.

    Before Northview, Peder served as Group Rooms Coordinator at Brasada Ranch for five years.

    Peder earned a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Geography at The University of Utah.

  • Cathy Smeriglio

    ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DIRECTOR

    Cathy joined Northview Hotel Group in 2010 and is responsible for incorporating new acquisitions into the portfolio, data warehousing, Design & Construction project management, legal and banking coordination, and corporate service provider relationships. She has over 25 years of accounting and marketing experience.

    Cathy earned a B.S. in Finance and Banking from the University of Bridgeport.

  • Anthony Danca

    PROJECT MANAGER

    Anthony joined the Northview team in mid-2022 and supports Northview’s Design & Construction team with oversight of various renovation projects at The Boca Raton. He has amassed over 15 years of construction experience in the state of Florida.

    Anthony earned a B.S Degree from Florida Gulf Coast University in Resort & Hospitality Administration.

  • Teddy Eley

    SENIOR ASSOCIATE

    Teddy joined Northview Hotel Group in 2019 and is an Associate with Northview Design & Construction, currently focused on The Boca Raton.

    Before Northview, Teddy worked with the Los Angeles Angels.

    Teddy earned a B.A. in Economics from Denison University and an MSc in Economics from Durham University.
